Today we will review the major Gods and locations such as Mount Olympus. You will create a personal advertisement for their God of your choice and have it ready to be read aloud in class.

http://www.desy.de/gna/interpedia/greek_myth/gods.html#GreekGods

This is a good website to get familiar with the ancient Greek gods.

Titans are the first gods and goddesses and the first rulers of Mt. Olympus. They are all the children of Uranus and Gaia.

Gods and Goddesses ruled on Mt. Olympus after they beat the Titans in a battle.

You should be able to identify these Gods from ancient Greece:

1. King of the gods.

2. Goddess of beauty.

3. Queen of the gods.

4. God of the underworld.

5. God of the sea.

6. Goddess of wisdom.

7. Messenger of the gods.

8. Goddess of the Earth.

9. God of the sun.

10. God of war.

Homework for History will be to research a character from the movie Troy( which I am no longer playing I have seen it enough times:p) and analyze his or her role in the film and their significance. This should be one page single spaced.

Characters such as :

Agamemnon,Achilles,Menelaus,Hector,Paris,Helen of Troy,Ajax,Odysseus.

In science we will look at
types of Muscles and specific locations on the body.

http://msjensen.education.umn.edu/webanatomy/

This site is a great resource for self testing and making sure you can identify specific sections of the muscles on the body.

Assign Exercise 3.3 (Agonist and Antagonist Muscle Pairs) on p. 44 to develop an understanding of the function of opposing muscle pairs.

Within this lesson, the focus is on the neck and vertebral column, muscles of respiration and the abdomen, and muscles of the shoulder.

I will copy out Exercise 3.7 (Muscles of the Neck and Vertebral Column) on pp. 48 - 49 to develop an understanding of the location, structure, and function of these muscles.

I will also Assign Exercise 3.8 (Muscles of Respiration and the Abdomen) on pp. 50 - 51 to develop an understanding of the location, structure, and function of these muscles.

Exercise 3.9 (Muscles of the Shoulder) on pp. 52 - 53 to develop an understanding of the location, structure, and function of these muscles.

You will get into pairs and research 1 of the 3 areas. We will then regroup and share our findings..there better be findings :p

There will be a science quiz this Friday so heads up... things such as the skeletal system, 3 types of muscles, flexion ,pronation and planes and axes of the body.

And in history you should have read up until page 96 in your mythology book.
